Summit School Early Learning Center delivers early childhood education in a way that respects each child as an individual, fosters each child's strengths, and delivers positive learning experiences to enrich a child's life.
Summit School Early Learning Center is a GOLD circle of quality preschool as awarded by the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood. SELC has an opening for a Preschool Teacher for at risk preschoolers. A Preschool for All teacher is responsible to plan, implement, evaluate and supervise a developmentally inclusive classroom.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan, prepare and conduct a developmentally appropriate prekindergarten classroom
- Conduct screenings to determine a child’s eligibility into the program. Implement classroom goals for each child
- Assess children’s progress upon entering the program, track and record progress throughout a child’s tenure
- Maintain a portfolio for each child to assess progress throughout the year, and record this progress on progress reports
- Prepare progress reports for parents
- Conduct parent teacher conferences and provide information for parents regarding their child’s progress, utilizing portfolio items, and anecdotal records. Provide a home visit to each child in your classroom.
Teachers MUST have a Professional Educators License in Early Childhood to be considered for this position.
Bilingual abilities a plus.
